Prophet Allan L. Jones and his wife Janice Jones were ordained and licensed as Pastors on February 16, 2002.  Together they were commissioned to preach and teach the Gospel and to exercise themselves in the Christian Ministry in accordance with the Word of God and the ordinances of the State of Michigan.  In accordance with his ordination, Pastor Jones had a vision for starting a church that would reach out to the unsaved and hurting within the Lansing community.  In June of 2002 Pastor and Co-Pastor Jones began meeting with the very first members of Anchor of Love Ministries II Church at the home of one of the members.  On Sunday, July 21, 2002 Anchor of Love Ministries II Church held its first service in a small union hall on the north side of Lansing.  This was the official start of the church in Lansing.  In November, 2003 the church moved its location to the Oak Park YMCA on the south side of Lansing.  From there Anchor of Love was blessed with its own church building in Grand Ledge in December, 2005.  Anchor of Love Ministries II Church continues to be a church of healing and deliverance serving the people of Lansing and Grand Ledge.  It’s a place where people can experience God’s blessings through obedience to His word.

Prior to starting Anchor of Love Ministries II Church, Pastor Jones had served as a Minister as well as President of the Ministerial Board at his former church.  He also served as Executive Assistant to the Pastor and allowed God to use him in many different capacities.  In 1977 he received his calling into the ministry after coming to Lansing, Michigan from Cleveland, Ohio.  It was in 1988 that God spoke to him and confirmed through His Word that he is a Prophet who has been called to comfort, exhort and edify God’s people.

Anchor of Love Ministries II Church is a non-denominational, Spirit filled, bible-based church where our goal is to minister to the needs of the people in accordance with God’s will and to teach the truth of God’s Word in its entirety, thereby allowing God’s people to grow and truly experience His blessings!

JULY 2010
A Message from our Pastors

To Anchor of Love members, our families and our friends:

Summer is finally here and is in full swing!  Many of us will enjoy celebrating the Fourth of July, birthdays, picnics and other outdoor events, as well as vacations and time away with our families.  It seems that summer is so short-lived and we have waited so long for it to finally arrive.  Now we must make the most of every moment!

When you think about it, we should have this same attitude every day, no matter what time of the year it is.  Our lives are short!  None of us has any time to waste by making wrong decisions or going in the wrong direction.  Just think about that summer event that you are anxious to get to.  If you are excited about arriving at your destination, you will do whatever it takes to make sure that you have the right directions.   You wouldn’t ask someone who doesn’t know the way to give you directions!  It just wouldn’t make sense because the result would be time wasted that you could have spent doing something you really enjoyed instead.

Well, in the same way, what sense would it make for us as Christians to be going in the wrong direction, only to find out years later that we have not arrived at our destination and that the result is time wasted where we could have been in God’s will rather than in our own?  No one wants to keep heading down the wrong road.  Even most people who have never acknowledged God in their life want to know that they are headed in the right direction.

Many of us have experienced this at one time or another in our lives-that point when we come to the realization that we may not be headed in the right direction.  The good news is that as Christians, we do have a solution to our problem.  No matter how far in the wrong direction we have gone, it is not too late to turn around.  God gives us a solution to our problem in His word. Proverbs 3:5&6 gives us the direction that we are looking for and what better person to give us direction in our lives than God himself! “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight”.  How many Christians have enough insight to know that they don’t have all the answers?  What a relief it is to know that we can look to God for direction in our lives!  The truth is that we are not supposed to have all of the answers.   God has not designed us that way.  He wants us to come to Him with our questions and with our doubts.  God does not just offer us opinions about our life, he give us the truth!  It is up to us to acknowledge Him in everything that we do.  There are times in our life when he will tell us “No” when we want to tell ourselves “Yes”; or He may tell us to wait to do something that we want to do now.  He will instruct us to hold our peace when we want so badly to be heard!

God’s instructions may not always be what we like, but if we follow His instructions we have a guarantee that we will be in His will – that our paths will be made straight!  And this will ensure us that we are headed in the right direction!

Go ahead and enjoy the warmth and beauty of summer – after all, God has given it to us!  But don’t forget to acknowledge God as you go forward!
